A full time position has become available for an Engineering Draftsperson to join the enthusiastic and dynamic engineering team at Caterham Cars. The successful applicant will support the engineering team directly and other areas of the business indirectly through the engineering department for tasks such as product resourcing or bespoke production equipment.
The position will not only involve creation and development of data but also managing data in a PDM system. PDM management will include input of new data, archive of existing data, part number administration, organisation of data within the PDM system and issuing of information as required within the business.
Typical tasks might include applying product improvement to existing parts, reverse engineering of historical parts, developing concept data into production ready information including detailed technical drawings, supporting manufacturing with fixture design, preparing data for export to 3rd party.
The role will be reporting directly to a senior member of the engineering team.
You will be required to liaise with and project-manage suppliers involved in external production of sample or prototype parts.
As part of this role out of hours travel may be required both inside and outside the UK in order to visit agents, suppliers or other activities which support the business.
Applicants who are successful in making it to interview stage will be asked as part of the process to show evidence of technical drawing proficiency and a practical test to show their ability with Solidworks.
